چکیده

For the creation of surface reinforcement particles in metal matrix, friction stir processing is frequently utilized. Formation aluminum/SiC composite on Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) butt weld Al5083 by a novel technique direct (DFSP) using hollow tool successfully demonstrated this present work. Deposition SiC zone DFSP was confirmed X-Ray diffraction (XRD) method. Micro analysis joint achieved metallographic microscope and scanning electron (SEM). Microstructure shows finely distributed aluminum matrix. Absence detrimental intermetallics energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) analysis. Tensile strength DFSPed specimen found to be 227.3 MPa which 19.5% lower than UTS autogenous TIG specimen. Microhardness SZ increased from microhardness 86 Hv 107 due presence particles.

On the fabrication and characterization of Al5083/Al2O3 surface nanocomposite via friction stir processing

In the present study, Al5083- Al2O3 nanocomposite was successfully prepared by friction stir processing (FSP) with rotational speed of 710 rpm and travel speed of 14 mm/min. In order to improve distribution of Al2O3 particles, a net of holes were designed on the surface of Al5083 sheet. The samples were characterized by optical and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), microhardness, tensile and ...
